Tesla Model S for Kids by Radio Flyer
A familiar ride-on with some extraordinary additions. You’ll find a lot of the typical toy car traits like working headlights and an MP3 dock, but with Tesla behind the wheel, there’s bound to be some exciting upgrades. Customizable components include the paint job, wheels, license plate, and battery. Really make this car yours with a few clicks of the mouse. Very unique concept and a killer car model to boot.
Driving Innovation Just Got Smaller
Green with envy over the car sitting idly in the garage? No, not your nigh-700 horsepower Model S. I’m talkin’ about the scaled down ride-on parked right next to it.
That’s right. Now kids can have the keys to their very own Tesla coupe. Really. Not only that, it can be custom-ordered to their specifications. To live your dreams and drive your own Tesla is one thing, but customizing its color, tires, and power source? Yes, please!
Radio Flyer has teamed up with Tesla in this exciting new battery-powered ride-on toy release of epic proportions. Seems only right that a green car manufacturer whose entire business model is based on battery-powered vehicles step into the children’s market.
And to make it stand out from the crowd, the group chose to offer more than your average ride-on toy.
While it yields some of the standard attributes associated with ride-on cars like a max speed of 6 miles per hour, working headlights, and MP3 dock, it still offers several unique features not provided by other makers.
Riders get their choice of 3 colors: Midnight Silver Metallic, Deep Blue Metallic, and Red Multi-Coat. These color options are authentic, premium paint choices provided exclusively by Tesla.
The metallic finishes provide their own level of depth with ingrained metallic flecks. Giving the car a sparkle from any angle in the sun.
On the other side of the color spectrum, the Red Multi-Coat has no flecks, but its layered red tone still provides a complex display of crimson shades that sure to impress.
The S Model comes stock with a 130 watt-hour battery pack. Instead of the typical lead-acid based battery, this coupe comes with an innovative Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) composition.
Tesla refers to this battery as their Flight Speed™ model, which is more green-centric and better for the environment. Compared to lead-acid batteries, Li-Ion are almost 75% smaller and half the weight.
If you’re not satisfied with 130 Wh battery, they offer an upgrade to 190 Wh model, which boasts 50% more playtime per charge. Not too bad for an additional $50. And don’t forget that you can always charge one while running the other.
Select Wheels & Custom License Plate
Tesla offers two variations for wheel finish: the standard Matte Black or the upgraded Silver Turbine. Both look slick and provide the car with some character, no matter how it dances with the color.
And you can also give your Model S some true identity with the customizable license plate. Choose up to 8 alphanumeric characters to make this ride-on yours and yours alone.
Indoor Car Cover & Parking Sign
Right when you think there isn’t much more that could be included, Tesla goes and offers you customization when it’s not in use. For the car owner that truly puts their vehicle on a pedestal, they’ve also included an indoor car cover and custom parking sign.
The car cover fits like a glove and comes with TESLA embroidered on the rear. You can also reserve your own spot in the garage (sorry, Mom) with a parking sign that fits up to 10 custom characters.
Tesla Model S Delivers
In all, it’s still got the familiar makeup of a battery-powered ride-on toy. But when it’s put in the hands of Tesla and Radio Flyer, the additions take this vehicle into the next level.
You can pre-order now and await delivery instructions, just as they did with the first round of Tesla vehicle releases.
For car buffs who want something unique that will crane necks in the neighborhood, the Tesla Model S for Kids is a worthy contender. And starting at $499, it’s not an exorbitant price difference from ride-ons in the same category.
